 BUÜ'S MOST MODERN LABORATORY IS COUNTING DOWN TO ITS OPENING

The Advanced Technology and Engineering Center, built at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) in memory of the late Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu by A-Plas, one of the leading companies in the automotive industry in Bursa, has been completed. The facility, which will include the Electric Vehicle Battery Technologies Research and Development Platform (BATEG) - Excellence Center, is set to begin operations in the early months of 2025.

BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu, Prof. Dr. Cafer Çiftçi, Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Arı, A-Plas Deputy Chairman of the Board Hasan Ağaoğlu, and the late Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu's wife Nebahat Ağaoğlu visited the completed laboratory building. The delegation received information about the current status of the building from Prof. Dr. Gökhan Sevilgen.

A SIGNIFICANT WORK AREA

In a statement about the project, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz said, "The Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu Advanced Technology and Engineering Laboratory Building has a total construction area of 4,500 m², which includes 5 laboratories, a 300-person conference hall, and offices for faculty members. It will be an extremely important work area for our university, which holds the status of a Research University. Various academic activities will be conducted here. The building contains 5 laboratories, and the BATEG Platform and Excellence Center will also continue their activities. All infrastructures are completed. We fondly remember the late Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu, who played a key role in initiating the construction of this facility. We express our gratitude to A-Plas Board Chairman Mr. Ahmet Ağaoğlu, Mr. Hasan Ağaoğlu, and Mrs. Nebahat Ağaoğlu, who showed great dedication in completing the facility. We plan to open this facility in the first months of 2025."

"WE ARE HONORED"

Hasan Ağaoğlu, the Deputy Chairman of the A-Plas Board of Directors, also expressed great honor upon the completion of the Advanced Technology and Engineering Laboratory Building, which their late father, Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu, had initiated during his lifetime. Hasan Ağaoğlu wished for the laboratories to be beneficial to the university, the academic community, and students.
