Maritime and Port Management Program

Around 90% of global transportation and 85% of Turkey’s international transportation is conducted via maritime routes. Additionally, logistics is a rapidly developing sector both globally and in Turkey. Today, producers and consumers demand more cost-effective and comprehensive integrated services. Logistics not only involves transportation and warehousing but also requires the integration and coordination of services such as foreign trade, customs, packaging, and distribution. Therefore, maritime management requires logistics planning, and logistics companies need specialized maritime business experts.

With the privatization of ports, the maritime sector has gained a dynamic and competitive dimension. The increasing trade volume and new investments in privatized ports have created a growing demand for specialized labor. The "Maritime and Port Management Program" has been designed to meet the need for experts who are well-versed in both maritime and supply chain logistics operations for the maritime, port, and rapidly expanding logistics sectors.

University-Industry Collaboration
Our school is located in the Uludağ University Gemlik Sunğipek-Asım Kocabıyık Campus, which is just 3 km from the Gemlik Free Zone and Gemlik Port Area—important hubs for Turkey’s foreign trade and Bursa’s logistics sector. Taking advantage of our location, we have established the first University-Industry Collaboration in Turkey for the Maritime and Port Management Program with Borusan Logistics Gemlik Port Facilities.

Through this agreement, successful students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to complete internships at Borusan Logistics Gemlik Port Facilities during the 3rd and 4th semesters for 24 weeks. This allows students to gain hands-on experience and put the theoretical knowledge they have acquired into practice.
