The Horticulture Program aims to train students as qualified "Agricultural Technicians" with the skills and knowledge to meet the demands of both the public and private sectors. Throughout the 4-semester education period, students are provided with a comprehensive curriculum, hands-on training, and internships that equip them with expertise in identifying and solving issues related to field and garden crop cultivation.
Graduates will be capable of conducting work on planning, problem-solving, and increasing agricultural productivity. They will stay up-to-date with innovations in agricultural practices and implement them in their work.
Employment opportunities for graduates include:
- Public institutions such as Agricultural Provincial Directorates, Municipal Park and Garden Directorates, and Agricultural Research Institutes.
- Private sector roles in greenhouses for seedling and sapling production, ornamental plant production and sales, agricultural pesticide stores, medicinal plant production, seed companies, landscaping companies, and post-harvest storage and packaging businesses.
Given the high agricultural potential of Gemlik and its surrounding areas—especially in the cultivation and processing of olives, fruits, and other crops—this program also aims to meet the need for trained personnel to fully leverage the region's resources.
