Program Educational Objectives

PEO1. Graduates of the program will be able to pursue employment in areas related to Biosystems Engineering, including design, project development, manufacturing, construction, and operation, as well as research and development, marketing, and consultancy services.

PEO2. Graduates will be able to pursue careers related to Biosystems Engineering in public- or private-sector organizations.

PEO3. Graduates of the program will be able to pursue relevant graduate studies and develop academic and professional careers.

PEO4. Graduates of the program will be able to assume managerial roles in areas related to Biosystems Engineering, become entrepreneurs, and establish their own businesses that create employment opportunities.

Program Outcomes

PO1. An adequate knowledge of mathematics, science, and discipline-specific subjects related to Biosystems Engineering, and the ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas to complex engineering problems.

PO2. The ability to design and conduct experiments for the investigation of complex problems or discipline-specific research topics in Biosystems Engineering, and to analyze and interpret the resulting data.

PO3. The ability to develop and/or design complex systems, processes, devices, or products related to Biosystems Engineering under realistic constraints, including economic, environmental, social, ethical, and sustainability considerations, and to apply modern design methods for this purpose.

PO4. The ability to work effectively and assume leadership roles in disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.

PO5. The ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems related to Biosystems Engineering.

PO6. The ability to act in accordance with ethical principles and an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities and the standards applied in engineering practice.

PO7. The ability to communicate effectively; write and understand reports in the field; prepare design and production reports; deliver effective presentations; and give and receive clear and comprehensible instructions.

PO8. Knowledge of the global and societal impacts of engineering solutions related to Biosystems Engineering on health, the environment, and safety; awareness of contemporary issues affecting the engineering profession; and awareness of the legal implications of engineering solutions.

PO9. Awareness of the need for lifelong learning to keep pace with developments in Biosystems Engineering; the ability to access information, follow advances in science and technology, and continuously improve oneself.

PO10. Knowledge of professional practices related to Biosystems Engineering, including project management, risk management, and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation; and knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in Biosystems Engineering.

PO11. The ability to effectively use modern engineering tools, techniques, and information technologies required for the analysis and solution of complex problems, as well as for engineering design and applications in Biosystems Engineering.
