We would like to congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr Dilek Pirim and her project team on their project titled ‘Discovery of Population-Specific Variants and Creation of a Variant Catalogue in Schizophrenia Patients Using Whole-Genome Sequencing’, which has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1001 programme.

The project aims to investigate the genetic basis of schizophrenia at the whole-genome level and, based on the findings, to establish a variant catalogue specific to the Turkish population. The study is intended to make significant contributions to translational medicine approaches.
