DEPARTMENT OF ENDODONTICS
The Department of Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the pulp (vessel-nerve package of the tooth) and periapical tissues (tissues surrounding the root tip) and the etiology, prevention, and treatment of these diseases.
Endodontic treatment, or the commonly known root canal treatment, includes; removing the pulp, mechanically expanding the root canal cavity with canal files, rinsing with disinfectant solutions, and filling it with tissue-friendly and impermeable materials.
