DEPARTMENT OF DENTOMAXILLOFACIAL RADIOLOGY

Dentomaxillofacial Radiology is one of the specialties in dentistry. In our clinics, dentomaxillofacial tissues and organs are systematically examined, all physiological and pathological changes of these structures are interpreted clinically and radiographically, and the required treatments are planned. According to their complaints, patients who visit our faculty hospital are initially examined by specialists in oral diagnosis clinics before receiving treatment. If necessary, they are directed to the radiology clinics for x-rays, and their treatment planning is done in detail. Besides examining the main reasons for patients' admission, all head-neck regions and intraoral investigation are performed. Using detailed physical examination and modern techniques, diseases in this area are diagnosed, and individuals' oral and maxillofacial health is highly maintained. After the clinical and radiographic evaluations, appropriate treatment plans are created and explained to the patients.

In this department, the purpose of the education given is to improve the knowledge and equipment using skills of students with a systematic approach to asking the right questions for the accurate diagnosis and interpretation, to apply the examination methods of the dentomaxillofacial region, and to evaluate the clinical and radiological findings. The Department of dentomaxillofacial Radiology continues to be one of the most basic academic units of dentistry, with its equipment developed each passing day and studies carried out in parallel with these technological developments.
