Plant Protection Program Introduction

Plant Protection Program Introduction

The Plant Protection Program at Yenişehir İbrahim Orhan Vocational School is the first and only program in Bursa that trains Plant Protection Technicians. As a requirement of sustainable agriculture, and to ensure that future generations can continue to benefit from agricultural lands, there is a strong need for well-trained and practically skilled Plant Protection Technicians capable of implementing effective plant protection practices.

Today, interviews with crop producers reveal that the greatest lack of knowledge lies in plant protection and plant nutrition, where most of the incorrect agricultural practices occur. Graduates of the Plant Protection Program acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge about agricultural chemicals and their applications. More importantly, they are equipped with the necessary competencies to control diseases, pests, and weeds while maintaining ecological balance and ensuring sustainable production. Thus, the program not only meets the sector’s demand for qualified technical personnel but also trains individuals capable of establishing and managing their own agricultural enterprises.
