The Department of Performing Arts at Bursa Uludağ University, Faculty of Fine Arts, has been admitting students through a Special Talent Examination since its establishment. The examinations are held at the beginning of each academic year, in late August or early September, following the announcement of the results of the Council of Higher Education's (ÖSYM) university entrance exams.
The Special Talent Examination for the Acting Major consists of two stages: a) The first stage, the Selection Exam, is the "Stage Exam," which tests whether the candidate possesses basic acting skills. b) The second stage, the Placement Exam, consists of five parts: the "Voice-Ear-Rhythm Exam," which tests the candidate's basic auditory and vocal skills required for the profession; the "Improvisation Exam," which tests their creativity, imagination, and coordination skills; the "Movement and Dance Exam," which tests their capacity for movement production and bodily awareness; the "Interest in Theatre and General Culture Exam," which measures their accumulated theatre knowledge; and the "Interview Exam."
The Special Talent Examination for the Playwriting and Dramaturgy Major consists of two stages: a) The first stage, the Selection Exam, consists of the "Written Expression Skill" and "Creative Writing" exams. b) The second stage, the Placement Exam, consists of the "Interest in Theatre and General Culture Exam" and the "Interview Exam." c) In the exams, candidates' writing, imagination, creativity, text construction, causality, observation, intellectual background, Turkish writing rules, and written expression skills are evaluated.
