Uludağ University Applied Research Center for Turkish Language Teaching (ULUTÖMER) is hosting the Bursa stage of Turkish Summer School events annually organized by Yunus Emre Institute.

Uludağ University is now included in the “Turkish Summer School” project of Yunus Emre Institute organizing various projects to promote Turkish language, history, and art. Uludağ University is hosting the Turkish Summer School, annually organized by Yunus Emre Institute in Turkey, for the first time with ULUTÖMER. Assuming the culture diplomacy mission of Turkey, Yunus Emre Institute started hosting 18 cultural ambassador students at ULUTÖMER for a month. Guests studying at Yunus Emre Institutes that are active in Albania, Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, Kazakhistan, Kirghizstan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Egypt, Poland and Romania, or at Turkology (Turkish Studies) Departments of the universities in the said countries study Turkish and get the opportunity to improve their Turkish and learn about Turkish culture by visiting the historical and cultural sites of Bursa in the five-week program.

Director of ULUTÖMER Prof. Dr. Salih Pay introduced the program to be executed in Bursa, and said that they got the opportunity to teach the history and cultural identity of Bursa to 18 cultural ambassador students. Salih Pay added, “We will visit all tourist attractions of Bursa with our students. We will explain the history in Turkish. The students will tell these experiences to their friends at their home countries. We will not only promote our city, but also contribute to the Turkish education of these young students thanks to the program”.

Students will gather in İstanbul in the fifth week of the Turkish Summer School program, and return to their home countries on 27 August after the “Voice of Millennium: Turkish Festival” event.
