REGISTRATION

B.U.U. Graduate student registrations are taken in person at the Institute of Health Sciences (SBE).

REGISTRATION RENEWAL

BUÜ SBE student registration renewal processes are carried out with student automation at the beginning of each semester, within the periods determined in the academic calendar.

REGISTRATION FREEZING/ PERMISSION

 (1) In the event that the student has the following justified and valid reasons, the Graduate School Administrative Board may decide to freeze the student's registration for a maximum of 2 (two) semesters at once (Implementation Principles Article 21); CLICK for the form.

• Having a health-related excuse documented with a health report,

• In accordance with the provisions of the Law No. 2547, the education has been suspended by the decision of YÖK due to the events that will result in the disruption of higher education,

• Having to interrupt education due to natural disasters,

• To certify that he/she has to suspend education due to the absence of anyone else to look after his/her spouse or first-degree blood relatives or relatives in case of emergency,

• Losing the right of deferment or being conscripted by way of deferment,

• A state of detention occurs,

• According to the provisions of the Higher Education Institutions Student Disciplinary Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 18/8/2012 and numbered 28388, there is a state of conviction that does not abolish the status of student or does not require expulsion from the University,

 

 (2) To make an application by stating other reasons that will be considered just and valid by the Institute's board of directors.

(3) In order for the justified and valid reason stated in the first paragraph to be accepted, this reason must be notified to the institute directorate within 15 (fifteen) days at the latest.

(4) Registration freezing can be repeated under the same procedures and conditions.

(5) The registration freeze period is not counted from the education period.

(6) Courses, course exams and thesis exams entered during the registration freze period are deemed invalid.

REGISTRATION OPENNING

Students can open their registration at their own request. However, registration must be done at the beginning of the relevant period. CLICK for the form.

Registration to the graduate programs

Article 33 – (1) Conditions on the finalization of the registration of students accepted to graduate programs are specified in the protocol issued by the Academic Council.

Other terms

Article 35 – (6)   Except non-thesis Master programs, it is not possible to register to and to continue more than one graduate program.

(8) (Appendix:RG-10/6/2020-31151) In case of disasters and epidemics, postgraduate education students who are at the thesis stage may be given an additional period of one semester, if they apply again according to the stage of the disaster or epidemic, one more semester, at most, and these additional periods are not counted from the maximum period.

Dismissal

ARTICLE 24 – (1) In the following cases, the student is dismissed from the institute with the decision of the institute administrative board:

a) Being expelled from higher education in accordance with the provisions of the Higher Education Institutions Student Disciplinary Regulation.

b) Requesting dismissal by applying to the institute in person and in writing. CLICK for the form.

c) Leaving through lateral transfer.

(2) In the following cases, the student is dismissed from the institute:

a) Being in a state of dismissal in accordance with the provisions of the Graduate Education and Training Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 20/4/2016 and numbered 29690.

b) Being unsuccessful at the end of the scientific preparation program period.

c) Not completing the course load determined by the institute department in four semesters in the master's programs with a thesis and doctorate programs, in three semesters in the non-thesis master's program, and in six semesters in the integrated doctorate program.

ç) Being unsuccessful in a master's/doctorate thesis supervisory course/specialization field course twice in a row or three times intermittently.

d) Failing the qualifying doctoral exam twice.

e) Being rejected for a doctoral thesis proposal twice.

f) Being rejected by the jury without being given time to revise the thesis.

g) Being a student whose revised thesis has been rejected.

ğ) Not submitting the thesis to the relevant institute at the end of the additional period given by the relevant administrative board (maximum three months for master's degree, maximum six months for doctorate) after having received a thesis revision in the thesis defence.

h) Being deemed unsuccessful twice consecutively or three times intermittently by the thesis supervisory committee at the doctoral thesis stage (the status of the student who does not submit a thesis monitoring report is detected by the thesis supervisory committee report. If the thesis monitoring report is not submitted to the institute on time or at all, the student is considered unsuccessful in thesis supervisory in the relevant semester.)

ı) Not completing the program within the maximum time limit.
