Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine achieved a significant success at the 17th Turkish Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery Congress through multidisciplinary research conducted under the leadership of the Hepatobiliary Surgery Division of the Department of General Surgery. The faculty members and researchers of our Faculty were deemed worthy of both first and second place awards in the “Best Oral Presentation” category with their scientific presentations.
The First Place Best Oral Presentation Award was presented to Doç. Dr. Seçil Aksoy, a faculty member of the Department of Medical Microbiology, for her study entitled
“Should Liquid Biopsy Influence Surgical Decision-Making in Resectable PDACs? A Comparative Analysis of ctDNA, cfDNA, cfRNA, CTCs, and Exosomes.”
Conducted within the Hepatobiliary Surgery Division of the Department of General Surgery and the DENHAB Unit, this study attracted great attention at the congress by revealing the potential role of liquid biopsy–based biomarkers in surgical decision-making processes in pancreatic cancer.
In addition, the Second Place Oral Presentation Award was given to Çağla Tekin, a PhD student of the Department of Medical Biology, for her presentation entitled
“Oleuropein May Enhance the Efficacy of Sorafenib in Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis–Associated Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Preliminary Findings Targeting the Tumor Microenvironment.”
