Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Sports Sciences aims to train Physical Education Teachers, sports trainers, and coaches in line with the objectives of the Turkish National Education. The faculty began its educational journey in 1982 under the Faculty of Education as the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching with 40 students. With the decision published in the Official Gazette on 11.11.2013 (2013/5530), it was decided that the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching of the Faculty of Education would continue its educational activities under the name of the Faculty of Sports Sciences affiliated with the Rectorate of Bursa Uludağ University as of the 2014-2015 academic year.

In addition to the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching, the faculty began admitting students to the Department of Coaching Education in the 2014-2015 academic year. Currently, the faculty offers 614 undergraduate students (268 in Physical Education and Sports Teaching, and 346 in Coaching Education), 32 master's students, and 11 doctoral students. It continues its education with 13 faculty members, 9 lecturers, and 5 research assistants in the buildings and facilities at the Görükle Campus.
