Not Just Learning, They Are Creating Solutions:
Our Students' Agenda is “Social Benefit” The “social responsibility” projects carried out by the students of the Marketing Program at Bursa Uludağ University İnegöl Vocational School as part of the Marketing Communication course have been successfully completed. The theme of the Marketing Communication course, taught by Lecturer Dr. Ahmet Neca Gökgül, was set as “Social Benefit” for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, and students implemented the projects they developed in line with this theme. The students, who became ‘social benefit ambassadors’ in projects implemented at different points in İnegöl, proved once again that marketing is not only a commercial tool but also a powerful mechanism for social transformation.
Take Action Against Drought with “A Drop for the Future”:
The first team to address the issue of water scarcity and drought, which has become one of the urgent and vital problems of both our country and the world in recent years, carried out a water conservation project called “A Drop for the Future” at Halil İnalcık Social Sciences High School. The project team, consisting of Gaye Kara, Dursun Bedir, Zeynep Sarıdağ, İlayda Niyazoğlu, Selman Bali, and Tolga Karataş, aimed to teach water literacy to high school students while also enabling them to acquire institutional knowledge about water management and usage through their collaboration with BUSKİ. Nurcan Aydoğan, an engineer who contributed to the event on behalf of İnegöl BUSKİ, gave a presentation and distributed 200 aerators to students to help them save water when using taps. The event, which was followed with great interest by the students, also featured a competition on water literacy, and the top three students with the highest scores were presented with awards.
There is No ‘Back’ Button in the Digital World:
Digital Awareness Campaign from Our Students Today, the majority of young people “learn by doing” but often overlook the risks involved in topics such as “Digital Footprint,” “Cyber Security,” and “Digital Terrorism”—are topics that young people mostly “learn by doing” but often overlook the risks involved. The second team held an event titled “Digital Footprint Awareness and Cooperation Against Terrorism” at Bursa Hamidiye Agricultural and Vocational High School. The team, consisting of Emir Kıllıçaslan, Buse Gürel, Ekrem Mert Tuncal, Ayşe Güleç, and Arda Alper, organized an informative seminar for high school students about the risks they may encounter in the digital environment and the legal consequences of these risks. The event, which was also supported by the Bursa Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, focused on personal rights and freedoms, privacy, and the legal implications of sharing screenshots in the digital environment, emphasizing the importance of students using digital platforms in a more conscious, responsible, and ethical manner.
Love Knows No Boundaries:
An Unforgettable Day When Hearts United In the hustle and bustle of daily life, we often forget or fail to pay enough attention to individuals with special needs. This time, however, they were at the forefront of our marketing students' hearts. The event organized by Ecem Nazik Özdemir, Hiranur Şenay, İbrahim Katırcıoğlu, Mehmet Nuri Ayçiçeği, and Abdulsamet Çakmak went beyond a simple visit, proving to us how time shared with special children can make the world a more beautiful place. Throughout the event held at the Ümit Işığı Special Education and Rehabilitation Center, our students spent one-on-one time with children with special needs; they played games, sang songs, and most importantly, “listened.” In those moments when social distances and prejudices disappeared, it was emphasized once again that the real barrier is not physical differences, but insensitivity in society.
The Future is Growing in Their Hands:
Little Hands Touched the Soil! Believing that a connection to nature begins in childhood, our two teams rolled up their sleeves to instill environmental awareness in elementary school students. The team consisting of Didem Ekim, Esra Altun, Yıldız Kılıç, Zehra Ercan, Kerem Atan, and Arif İlimdar organized a tree planting event at Dipsizgöl Elementary School, while the team consisting of Burak Bayram, Burhan Aslan, Esin Calık, Abdül Samet Arslan, and Ceyda Burcun organized a tree planting event at Bilalköy Faik Deniz Elementary School. Motivated primarily by the devastating forest fires and increasing desertification threat across Turkey in recent years, these events laid a solid foundation for tomorrow's environmental awareness through the excitement children experienced while touching the soil. Children, who encountered soil this closely for the first time, named the saplings they watered with their own hands and pledged to protect nature. The activities were not limited to just planting saplings; our students explained to the younger students why forests are like lungs for our world. Not wanting the impact of the organization to be limited to tree planting, the team at Dipsizgöl Primary School prepared a tree board, while the team at Bilalköy Faik Deniz Primary School presented each student with an “Environmental Report Card” during report card week. At the end of the event, the young students, whose happiness was evident in their eyes, said they would eagerly follow the growth of the saplings they had planted.
