İnegöl is a district of Bursa Province. It is located in the southeast of the Marmara Region. It is situated at the 45th kilometer of the Bursa-Eskişehir highway. Located in the triangle formed by the provinces of Bursa, Bilecik, and Kütahya, İnegöl is built on the fertile and wet plains between Mezit Boğazı and Ümitalan. İnegöl has an area of 1,065 km². İnegöl's climate shows transitional characteristics between the Black Sea and Mediterranean climates. The summer months are more similar to the Mediterranean climate, being hot and with little rainfall.
According to 2020 data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, İnegöl is the largest district outside the center of Bursa with a population of 302,251. It is also one of Bursa's most intensive and largest industrial centers in terms of industrial statistics. Today, İnegöl is not only a large and modern industrial city but also larger than many provinces in Turkey.
When we look at the factors that have made İnegöl a brand city, we see İnegöl furniture, İnegöl meatballs, Oylat hot springs, İnegöl sunflower seeds, strawberries, and blueberries. Located at the foot of Mount Uludağ, İnegöl is characterized as a place where forest products are manufactured due to the forests in its immediate vicinity. While all kinds of wooden items were produced in the past, small workshops began to focus entirely on furniture manufacturing in the 1950s. After the 1980s, industry in İnegöl developed even more rapidly, particularly due to the influence of the Organized Industrial Zone.
From the 1980s to the present day, in addition to forest products, companies operating in other sectors, primarily textiles, have begun to establish facilities in our district. Today, İnegöl, which has brands whose fame transcends national borders, is increasing its capacity day by day. In Turkey's export rankings, when based on provinces, İnegöl leaves many provinces behind. İnegöl's foreign trade volume has exceeded 1 billion dollars. The number of countries to which exports are made is around 200.
