History: In its Executive Board meeting dated May 6, 2005, the Council of Higher Education decided to open a "Child Development Program (Evening Education)" at Uludağ University İnegöl Vocational School with 30 students, in accordance with Articles 7/d-2, 7/h of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, and Article 4 of Law No. 3843. Our program began operating as Evening Education in the 2005-2006 Academic Year. Again, with the decision taken at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting of the Council of Higher Education dated 08.04.2010, in accordance with the articles 7/d-2 and 7/h of the Law No. 2547 as amended by Law No. 2880 and article 4 of the Law No. 3843, the “Child Development Program (Formal Education)” was opened within İnegöl Vocational School. In our program, education activities continued as both formal and evening education from the 2010-2011 Academic Year until 2024. In 2024, with the decision taken by the Council of Higher Education, evening education programs at all universities were closed. In our program, currently, education activities and various projects, events, social responsibility activities etc. are continuing only as formal education with 3 faculty members.
Purpose: The first purpose of the Child Development Program; to train child development professionals who support the physical, psychomotor, cognitive, language, social, emotional and moral development of children with typically developing and special needs and who acquire/support all sub-skills related to these areas through appropriate education or developmental support programs. Another important objective of the Child Development Program is to provide an educational service aimed at acquiring life skills with teaching methods appropriate to the requirements of the age and science, with the principle of being useful for a lifetime. In this direction, to ensure that our students grow up as individuals who use the equipment they have, are fair, always do good, research, desire to contribute to the development of their country and profession, constantly renew themselves by following developments in their field, have original ideas, have a leadership spirit, are analytical and problem-solvers.
Program Outcomes:
• By understanding the importance of the Field of Child Development, to be able to fulfill the professional requirements of the profession,
• By understanding the importance of Pre-School Education; • To plan, implement, observe, evaluate and monitor developmental characteristics of typically developing children and all developmental areas,
• To plan and implement activities for individuals with special needs and their families by understanding the importance of the Special Education Field,
• To internalize universal and cultural values and use them in daily life,
• To have knowledge and skills about child health, diseases, care and nutritional habits,
• To support children in using Turkish correctly and eloquently, to establish effective, healthy and positive communication with children and their families,
• To increase children’s interest in science and technology, to plan practical activities and educational processes related to current developments,
• To use, prepare and maintain the tools, materials and documents in the work environment,
• To know the importance of society, family and child relationships, to plan family and society studies with practical contents.

Degree Exams, Measurement and Evaluation: Each student must register for courses at the beginning of the semester and must attend at least 70% of the courses and 80% of the practical sessions in order to be eligible to take the final exam. Students are given at least 1 midterm exam and a final exam for each course. The midterm exam (scores from assessment tools such as homework, laboratory exams, projects, etc.) contribute 40% to the final grade, and the final exam contributes 60%. All exams are graded out of 100. The minimum passing grade (passing grade) is 50. Students who receive a letter grade of AA, BA, BB, CB, or CC in a course are considered successful. Grades DC and DD are conditional passing grades. To pass a course in which a student receives a DC or DD grade, their overall CGPA must be at least 2.0. Grades FF and FD are considered failing.
Graduation Requirements: To successfully complete the program, students must pass all courses (equivalent to 120 ECTS credits) and achieve a CGPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.
Employment of Our Graduates: Our graduates can work as child development professionals in various disciplines and fields, almost anywhere there are children. Some of the institutions and organizations where our graduates can work are as follows; state and private kindergartens affiliated with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, kindergarten classes affiliated with primary, secondary or high schools, nurseries and daycare centers, children's homes, love houses, hope houses, private educational institutions, state and private hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health, medical faculty hospitals of all universities, youth centers affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, institutions and organizations belonging to municipalities, foundations, associations, kids' clubs, children's playgrounds in shopping malls, game cafes...
