A Seminar Titled “Electricity Generation from Solar Energy: Solar Power Plant Projects and Real-World Applications” Was Held for Students in the Department of Electrical and Energy Engineering

A seminar titled “Electricity Generation from Solar Energy: Solar Power Plant (SPP) Projects and Real-World Applications.”

The seminar covered the basic principles of electricity generation from solar energy, the operational structure of solar energy systems, and the planning, design, and implementation phases of SPP projects.

In presentations delivered by Electrical and Electronics Engineers Furkan VURGUN and Ramazan KIZIL from ADA Elektrik, field experiences gained from various solar power plant projects were shared with the students. Specifically, using the solar power plant project installed on the roof of the municipality-owned livestock market in our district as an example, information was provided on system design, panel layout, installed capacity calculations, equipment used, energy production processes, grid connections, and technical issues encountered during implementation.

While students had the opportunity to apply the knowledge they gained in theoretical courses through a real-world solar power plant project, they also gained valuable insights into current practices and engineering processes in the renewable energy sector. Additionally, there are plans to examine the animal market solar power plant project—which was discussed during the seminar—on-site during a future technical field trip, allowing students to observe the project in a real-world setting.

We would like to thank ADA Elektrik for contributing to the organization of the seminar, as well as electrical and electronics engineers Furkan VURGUN and Ramazan KIZIL for sharing their valuable knowledge and experience with our students.
