Our university operates with the mission of educating individuals who are guided by reason and science, who embrace contemporary, democratic, and free-thinking principles, who are highly responsible, respectful of societal values, and rooted in cultural and historical heritage, while possessing a global vision. In line with this mission, Bursa Uludağ University is home to 15 faculties, 2 schools, 15 vocational schools, 1 conservatory, 4 institutes, 28 application and research centers, and 5 rectorate-affiliated departments.
The foundation of Bursa Uludağ University traces back to the establishment of Bursa Faculty of Medicine under Istanbul University in 1970 and the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences in 1974. Officially founded as "Bursa University" on April 11, 1975, under Law No. 1873, the institution was renamed "Uludağ University" on July 20, 1982, following the enactment of Decree Law No. 41. Most recently, the name was changed to "Bursa Uludağ University" on May 18, 2018, with the enactment of Law No. 7141.
The General Secretariat functions as a key administrative body, as outlined in Decree Law No. 124, facilitating the administrative organization and supporting the university's operations. Its responsibilities include managing general administrative tasks, overseeing personnel management, organizing protocol arrangements, handling official correspondence, and providing essential support services to ensure the seamless functioning of the university's administration.
