Sustainable Green Area Management

Aim: Providing the sustainability of open and green spaces, establishment of new green spaces, managing the green spaces in a way that would strengthen the positive relationship between pedestrians and green spaces

Bursa Uludag University recognizes the importance of healthy habitats for human welfare and biodiversity and strives to improve the forests and flora of the campus with an ecosystem approach. University targets to allow the irrigation of all green spaces with rainwater, to provide feasible habitats for living creatures, and strengthen the relationship between nature-animal-human beings.

Several steps to be taken towards this aim are as follows:

  1. To develop green space design standards that support the local plant species and species that provide pollination,
  2. To increase the green spaces at the campus, and maintain the existing green spaces,
  3. To achieve sustainable soil management at the campus; to encourage the application of soil-friendly practices and sustainable management of soil resources,
  4. To increase and improve pedestrian ways and gathering places,
  5. To empower positive relationships between students and staff at the campus,
  6. To plan tree planting campaigns,
  7. To establish feasible habitats for the living at the campus, strengthen the relationship between nature-animal-human beings.
