It is a globally recognized fact that tobacco and tobacco products have negative impacts on the environment, the economy and the health of both smokers and non-smokers. Reducing tobacco use also plays a major role in global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of reducing premature deaths from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by one-third by 2030. Many of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals are directly or indirectly related to tobacco use. All people have the fundamental right to breathe clean air and tobacco-free environments are essential to guarantee this right. We are aware of the right to breathe clean air for the users of our campus: students, staff and visitors!
