The Department of Sociology, which started education in the 1990-1991 Academic Year,
produced its first graduates in 1994. The master's program was opened in the department in
the 1996-1997 academic year. The department consists of five main branches: General
Sociology and Methodology, Sociology of Institutions, Applied Sociology, Social Structure and
Change and Sociometry.
The Main Purpose Of The Department
The Department of Sociology is to be a department that produces information and provides
education at an international level, creates an individual profile that is sensitive to the
problems of the environment and province in which they live as well as the country, provides
education for institutions and organizations operating in the public and private sectors and
constantly improves itself.
The Vision of the Department
The vision of the Sociology Department is to be a unit that provides quality education and
training, produces knowledge at an international level, and constantly develops, follows
scientific developments in the world, and contributes to them by conducting research,
leading the scientific development of our university and our country.
The Mission of the Department
Bursa Uludag University's mission and vision who have assimilated, who are confident in
themselves, their country and their future, rich in professional and general culture, fluent in
Turkish and who uses it correctly and is fluent in at least one foreign language, open to
innovations and sufficient power of criticism, social sciences as well as natural sciences and
technology young sociologists with an initial understanding to educate.

assistant doctors, three research assistants.

Graduates
According to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) determined within the scope of the
Bologna Process, students graduate with 240 ECTS. In addition, students who are eligible to
graduate are automatically given a free "Diploma Supplement" that is valid in all European
countries included in the European Credit Transfer System and is added to their diplomas.
