Bursa Uludağ University Nursing Department started its undergraduate education activities within the School of Health in 1996 with the decision of the Council of Ministers. Later, it was included in the Faculty of Health Sciences, which was established as a result of the closure of the School of Health with the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette dated 03.08.2016 and numbered 8969. In this department, a four-year undergraduate education is provided to provide professional knowledge and skills. In the first three years of the program, basic medical sciences, theoretical and practical courses specific to the field of nursing are given. In order to ensure that our students transfer the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in previous years to practice, to integrate theory and practice, and to prepare them for their professional lives after graduation, an internship application is carried out in the final year. The education program is carried out with the classical education model. In the laboratory applications of Fundamentals of Nursing, the theoretically explained knowledge is reinforced with active learning methods compatible with cognitive, affective and behavioral learning areas. Especially in the applications of practical courses in environments suitable for the student's learning objectives, learning is supported by using active learning methods.
In our university and our Nursing Department, all arrangements regarding the Bologna process have been completed and our graduates are also given an English diploma supplement that is valid at an international level. In addition to national and international student exchange programs, our students are offered the opportunity to benefit from double major and minor programs. In addition, there are Nursing Master's and Nursing Doctorate programs conducted by our faculty members at the Health Sciences Institute.
Our faculty has a faculty that follows scientific and technological developments, transfers the knowledge they have acquired to education and training processes, constantly improves themselves, has experience in education and training processes, and an administrative staff that contributes to the effective continuation of education and training processes of this staff. Our faculty's Nursing Department applied to HEPDAK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Education Programs) in January 2022 for the evaluation and monitoring of undergraduate nursing education programs in line with continuously developing standards and continues its work in this direction.
