The 2nd Undergraduate Student Symposium, organized by the Istanbul University Faculty of Letters, Department of History on May 14, 2025, brought together undergraduate students from various university history departments. At the event, held in the Faculty of Letters Board Room, students from different universities presented their original research in various subfields of the history discipline in an academic setting.
Students from the Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History also participated in the symposium with their presentations. Çağatay Akbaş, in his presentation titled "The Impact of Natural Disasters on the Bursa Bey's Palace," analyzed the effects of natural disasters on the Bursa Bey's Palace through historical sources. İbrahim Büyük, in his study titled "A Portrait of a Family from 1923 to 1960: The Ipars," discussed the socio-economic and cultural transformation of a Bursa family in the Republic era. Oğuzhan Kesicikan presented an assessment of state-citizen relations of the period with his paper titled "Practices of Revocation of Citizenship in the Early Republic Period." The studies prepared by our students with interdisciplinary approaches were met with interest by the symposium participants and drew attention for their academic productivity.
