Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ), İŞKUR, and Forvia Faurecia Launch a Special Project

Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ), the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), and Forvia Faurecia have initiated a unique project aimed at preparing young individuals for the professional world. As part of this project, students enrolled at Orhangazi Asil Çelik Vocational School will graduate fully equipped for their careers.

The launch event for the jointly organized UNIMEK Program took place at Forvia Faurecia's facilities in Orhangazi, Bursa. Attendees included BUÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Arı, İŞKUR Bursa Provincial Director Feyzullah Eren Türkmen, BUÜ Orhangazi Yeniköy Asil Çelik Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şekip Esat Hayber, Forvia Faurecia Plant Manager Bahadır Ersöz, and representatives from the involved institutions.

A Successful Collaboration

Speaking at the event, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Arı expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the project. Highlighting the priority of university-industry collaboration, Prof. Dr. Arı stated:
“Our General Secretariat, İŞKUR Director, and Continuing Education Center have been making continuous efforts in this area. Based on insights gathered from our engagements, we have made significant progress. Today, we witness the tangible outcomes of this collaboration, which brings us great satisfaction. Our trainees must focus on learning their profession thoroughly, as this collaboration will contribute significantly to their development. They will benefit from a valuable training period at an international company, and we have full confidence that they will make the most of this opportunity. I extend my best wishes for the success of this protocol for our university, the company, and our students.”

“Our Joy is Multiplied”

İŞKUR Provincial Director Feyzullah Eren Türkmen remarked:
“We have organized numerous on-the-job training programs with companies in the past. However, here we see a robust start, as theoretical and practical lessons are provided by the esteemed faculty of our university. Observing the genuine realization of the often-emphasized university-private sector-public collaboration here multiplies our joy. We express our respect and gratitude to everyone who contributed.”

Commitment to Excellence

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şekip Esat Hayber, Director of Orhangazi Yeniköy Asil Çelik Vocational School, shared his thoughts:
“Although this initiative coincided with an extremely busy period, we strived to fulfill every expectation thanks to the dedication of our faculty members and the merit of this project. We will continue to work with the same determination moving forward.”

Forvia Faurecia Plant Manager Bahadır Ersöz emphasized that the collaboration would support sectoral growth and make significant contributions to long-term human resources planning.

UNIMEK Program and Objectives

The UNIMEK Program is a model that strengthens university-industry collaboration and aims to train the qualified workforce demanded by the business world. Theoretical training is provided by BUÜ, while practical training is conducted at Forvia Faurecia facilities.

The program’s academic team includes BUÜ Orhangazi Yeniköy Asil Çelik Vocational School educators: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şekip Esat Hayber, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilsay Pastakkaya, Asst. Prof. Dr. Tufan Gürkan Yılmaz, Lecturer Dr. Nebi Seren, Lecturer Dr. Kadir Burak Olgun, Lecturer Dr. Alptekin Türkkan, and Lecturer M. Fatih Öztürk. Additionally, ULUSEM Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Dokur and Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zerrin Fırat contributed to program coordination.
