General Information
The Automotive Sector is a strong industry that significantly impacts many other sectors, with high added value in terms of business volume, employment, and contribution to the economy. The Automotive Industry currently accounts for one-fifth of Turkey's total exports and is rapidly developing. To sustain this growth, achieve projected goals, and compete internationally, it is necessary to gain a sustainable competitive advantage based on technology. New developments and plans indicate that in the coming years, there will be a need for innovative engineers, researchers, and research centers in the automotive sector, who have received high-quality education in the field. Therefore, as in countries that lead in the automotive field, establishing research infrastructures that meet international standards and launching undergraduate and graduate programs focused on automotive topics in Turkey are essential. This will ensure the training of qualified engineers and researchers who are equipped to respond effectively to the evolving and changing needs of the sector in design and technology production. In this context, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Bursa Uludağ University has established the Department of Automotive Engineering to enhance its contribution to education and strengthen its support for the automotive industry in Bursa and the surrounding region.
