The Advanced Technology and Engineering Center, built by the A-Plas company, one of the leading organizations in the automotive industry in Bursa, to honor the late Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu, has been completed at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ). The facility, which will also include the Battery Technologies Research and Development Platform (BATEG) - Center of Excellence for Electric Vehicles, will begin serving in the first months of 2025.

BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu, Prof. Dr. Cafer Çiftçi, Prof. Dr. Zekeriyya Arı, along with A-Plas Vice Chairman of the Board Hasan Ağaoğlu and the late Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu's wife Nebahat Ağaoğlu, visited the completed laboratory building. The delegation received information about the current state of the building from Prof. Dr. Gökhan Sevilgen.

AN IMPORTANT WORK AREA

In a statement about the project, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz said: “The Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu Advanced Technology and Engineering Laboratories Building, with a total construction area of 4500 m², includes 5 laboratories, a 300-seat conference hall, and work offices for faculty members. It will be an extremely important work area for our university, which has research university status. Various academic studies will be conducted here. The building houses 5 laboratories. Additionally, the BATEG Platform and our Center of Excellence will continue their activities. The infrastructure of each has been completed. We remember the late Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu with gratitude, who was instrumental in starting the construction of this facility. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Ahmet Ağaoğlu and Mr. Hasan Ağaoğlu, Chairmen of the Board of A-Plas, and to Mrs. Nebahat Ağaoğlu, for their great dedication in the completion of this facility. We plan to open our facility for service in the first months of 2025.”

“WE ARE HONORED”

A-Plas Vice Chairman of the Board Hasan Ağaoğlu, who inspected the facility, also expressed their great honor at the completion of the Advanced Technology and Engineering Laboratory Building, which their late father Dr. Arif Ağaoğlu initiated during his lifetime. Hasan Ağaoğlu wished the laboratories to be beneficial to the university, the academic community, and the students.
