HISTORY
In line with the decisions of the High Health Council dated 23 May 1995 and numbered 185/1, our School of Health was established in order for the 79 Health Vocational Schools to continue their activities in the Health Vocational High School buildings, which were established by the Decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 96/8655 published in the Official Gazette dated 2 November 1996 and numbered 22805. Based on the protocol signed between the Ministry of Education and the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education on 22.11.1996 in the 1997-1998 academic years, it started undergraduate education with the Midwifery and Nursing Departments in the Bursa Anatolian Health Vocational High School building, which was transferred to Uludag University School of Health. As a result of the initiatives taken because the graduates of the Midwifery Department could not find jobs, especially in the Ministry of Health staff, in accordance with the letter of the Council of Higher Education dated 15.04.1998 and numbered 713/7070; Starting from the 1998-1999 academic year, student admission to the Midwifery Department was stopped and gradually closed, and the Health Officer Department was opened instead. In the 2002-2003 academic year, our School started education together with the Vocational School of Health Services in the building allocated within the university campus.
In accordance with the decision taken at the Higher Education General Assembly meeting dated 11.05.2008; According to the provision in the temporary article 2 added by the article 7 of the law on amendments to the Nursing law No. 5634, "The name of the Health Officer Program equivalent to nursing education will be changed to Nursing program as of the date of entry into force of this law and the programs will be combined", the Nursing program within the School of Health and the Health Officer program were combined under the name of "Nursing" program.
The Decision of the Council of Ministers dated 13.06.2016 and 2016/8969 was published in the Official Gazette dated 03.08.2016 and numbered 29790, and the School of Health was closed and the Faculty of Health Sciences was established instead. There are 6 departments in our faculty: Nursing, Midwifery, Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and Social Work. In our faculty, education is currently carried out in the Nursing and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Departments. Students were admitted to the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in the 2020-2021 academic years. The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics has started to accept students for 2024-2025 education. As of the end of the 2023-2024 academic years, the Department of Nursing graduated a total of 2499 students, and Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation graduated 25 students.
The improvement of the physical conditions of our faculty was completed in 2017 and the move to our new building with a closed usage area of 4815 m² was completed in November 2017.

U.U. Faculty of Medicine Head of the Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Prof. Dr. Okan TÖRE served as the founding principal of the school from 1996 to 2010. In the 2010-2011 academic year, U.U. Faculty of Medicine Professor of Histology-Embryology Department. Dr. Şahin SIRMALI, U. Ü. between 23.06.2011 - 26.05.2015. Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology. Dr. Cüneyt ÖZAKIN and U.Ü. Head of the Department of Medical Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Berrin TUNCA served as the School Principal between 27.05.2015 and 26.10.2016.
Faculty Deans
Head of the Department of Medical Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Berrin TUNCA served as Deputy Dean between 27.10.2016 - 02.11.2018. On 25.10.2018, one of the faculty members of our Faculty, Department of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Nurcan ÖZYAZICIOĞLU was appointed as Dean and served as dean of our faculty for two terms. As of 27.11.2024, one of the faculty members of our Faculty, Department of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Neriman AKANSEL was appointed as acting dean.
