In general, universities are institutions that aim to raise individuals who can think critically at a universal level, solution-oriented, constantly renew themselves, respect differences, creative, and contribute to science and the arts. With these and similar qualities, universities with all their organs are one of the foremost driving forces that carry society forward at all times and in all places. In addition to others, Fine Arts faculties aim to educate individuals who serve people and society, protect the environment and nature, comprehend and interpret the dynamics of the country, are more sensitive in understanding and evaluating what exists, and contribute to the shaping of society and taking its place in the contemporary world based on their abilities and perceptions.
Our faculty, which was decided to be established in 1995 for this purpose, started its academic life in the 2007-2008 academic year with 20 students in the Painting Department, 10 students in the Department of Performing Arts Acting Department and 5 students in the Department of Dramatic Writing.
Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Fine Arts also has Graphic Design, Ceramic and Glass Design, Industrial Design, Textile and Fashion Design departments which have received permission from YÖK, are still in the preparation stage in terms of physical and academic infrastructure and aim to start accepting students at the first opportunity. Since its establishment, the Department of Performing Arts has been conducting its education and training activities in the temporary building in Mudanya district and the Department of Painting in the temporary building allocated in Görükle Campus.
The faculty staff of our relatively young faculty take part in art activities in Turkey and abroad, receive awards at various levels related to their branches of art and equip our students, who are accepted through talent exams, to contribute to the future of our country.
I welcome everyone who wants to receive education in this direction to our faculty, which provides undergraduate and graduate education, and I respectfully commemorate the academic and administrative staff who have worked for the Faculty of Fine Arts since its establishment.
