 BURSA ULUDAĞ UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF FINE ARTS HOSTED THE 1ST NATIONAL PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS SYMPOSIUM

The "1st National Performing and Visual Arts Symposium" organized by the Performing Arts Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) in cooperation with the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and the Bursa Culture, Arts and Tourism Foundation was held at the Prof. Dr. M. Mete Cengiz Culture Center on November 11-12, 2024. The opening ceremony was attended by BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, Bursa State Theater General Manager Sezai Yılmaz, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality City Theater General Art Director Ali Düşenkalkar, Bursa Culture, Arts and Tourism Foundation General Secretary Fehim Ferik, academicians, artists, students and art lovers.

In the Symposium, which started after the opening speeches and consisted of 4 sessions in total, academics from 6 different universities presented 12 papers under the titles of performing arts in the age of technology, intercultural dialogue, universal language in contemporary artistic expression, interdisciplinary approaches in performing and visual arts, art and art education in the digital world, art and new media technologies. At the end of each presentation, discussions were held with questions and opinions from the audience, and the contributions of the new ideas and practices put forward to the studies of performing and visual arts were discussed.

In the evaluation and closing session, wishes were expressed for the Symposium, which was organized for the first time this year and whose full papers will be published as an e-book, to be developed with more diverse and broader subject content in the future and to become a tradition, and all participants were thanked for their interest and support.
