Students who have learned Turkish and graduated from the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Centre (ULUTÖMER) in previous academic years came together again at ULUTÖMER. The event organised under the name of ‘Graduates Are Getting Together’ was held on 01.07.2025 in ULUTÖMER garden. In the event attended by approximately 250 international students, graduated students met with students who are currently learning Turkish at ULUTÖMER and shared their experiences with them.
Greeting speech at the event, Deputy Director of the Centre, Lec. Erdem Hamaratlı, stated that ULUTÖMER is more than a school and a course for international students, and that they had their first experiences of Turkey and Turkish culture here. Hamaratlı mentioned that language learning is an ongoing process that needs to be sustained and that there are plans to provide academic writing support for international students after they graduate from ULUTÖMER. Hamaratlı thanked the students for their interest in the event and announced that they would like to make this event a tradition in the following years.
Graduated students also took the floor at the event and shared their feelings and thoughts. They shared their impressions when they first came to Turkey and ULUTÖMER, their experiences while learning the language and gave advice to their friends who are currently learning Turkish. The event ended with song performances of the students, games such as chair grabbing race and tug of war.
