7th International Topkapı Congress

Our student Berre Cesur, participated in the 7th International Topkapı Congress, held on 8–9 June 2026, where she presented the paper entitled "The Effect of the Mobile Digital Exhibition Application on the Cultural Heritage Learning Outcomes of Eighth-Grade Middle School Students." The study was conducted within the scope of a project supported by TÜBİTAK 2209-A. As a researcher in the project, Cesur collaborated with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berna Coşkun Onan and Research Assistant Dr. Tuğba Gürkan Şenyavaş. Together, they implemented the Mobile Digital Exhibition Application (MDEA) with a total of 360 eighth-grade students from three village schools in Bursa. The application was carried out in a mobile exhibition truck provided by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports of Bursa Uludağ University.

The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in the students' cultural heritage learning outcomes following their participation in the Mobile Digital Exhibition Application. The results demonstrated that the application substantially enhanced students' knowledge of and awareness about cultural heritage. Positive improvements were observed across all evaluation criteria after the implementation, including increased familiarity with museums and a heightened awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

Furthermore, the students reported that they found the digital exhibition experience beneficial and expressed their desire to see the application implemented in other schools as well. Overall, the findings indicate that mobile digital exhibitions constitute an effective and sustainable educational tool for cultural heritage education.
