IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Regarding the Rules for the Use of Counseling Rooms

The fundamental principle of psychological counseling processes is to ensure client confidentiality and to conduct sessions in a secure and uninterrupted environment. Recently, issues such as improper use of counseling rooms, interruptions of ongoing sessions due to external interference, and failure to comply with scheduled time limits have been observed. These situations are inconsistent with professional ethics and principles.

In order to protect the counseling process for both clients and counselors and to ensure fairness for all, the following rules regarding the use of counseling rooms must be strictly observed:

  • No Use Without Appointment: Counseling rooms may not be used under any circumstances without a prior appointment.
  • Weekly Scheduling: Individuals whose names are not listed in the appointment schedule will not be allowed to make same-week, last-minute appointment requests. All planning must be carried out in advance in accordance with the established schedule.
  • Session Confidentiality and Non-Interruption: Rooms with closed doors where sessions are in progress must not be entered under any circumstances. Doors must not be knocked on, sessions must not be interrupted in any way, and individuals must not wait outside rooms during session transitions.
  • Time Management and Adherence to Appointment Hours: Counselors or clients who arrive late to their sessions are not permitted to exceed their allocated time if there is another appointment scheduled immediately afterward. To avoid infringing on the next session and causing inconvenience, the room must be completely vacated within a maximum of 5 minutes following the end of the session.
  • Sanctions: Students who fail to comply with these rules, cause interruptions to sessions, violate others’ appointment times, or are subject to complaints will be subject to strict sanctions, including temporary or permanent suspension of their right to use counseling rooms and the inability to schedule new appointments.

Considering the sensitivity and ethical nature of the psychological counseling process, all parties are kindly requested to observe these rules with the utmost care.
