Hands-On Training on Advanced Battery Technologies Provided to Female Engineer Candidates within the Scope of the EU-Funded Vocational Excellence Center Project (VOLTAGE) in Collaboration with Coşkunöz Education Foundation

Hands-on training support was provided by the Battery Technologies Research and Development Platform for Electric Vehicles (BATEG) for the training programs organized by the Coşkunöz Education Foundation within the scope of the VOLTAGE (Vocational Training for Optimal Learning and Growth in the European Battery Industry)Center of Vocational Excellence Project. Funded by the European Union, the project aims to enhance battery technologies education and competencies across the EU.

Participating from various cities across Türkiye, 15 female engineer candidates strengthened their expertise by receiving technical training in the field of battery technologies. They consolidated their knowledge through a technical visit organized to BATEG, where they received comprehensive briefings from Prof. Dr. Gökhan SEVİLGEN, BATEG Coordinator and Head of the Automotive Engineering Department.

Throughout the program, all core and advanced stages of battery cell manufacturing were covered in detail, offering participants a robust technical foundation. The topics included Mixing, Coating and Drying, Calendaring Process, Stacking, Cell Enclosure, Cap Assembly, Cell-to-Module Transition Principles, Service Box, Module Assembly, System Understanding, and End-of-Life Management. Furthermore, the infrastructure, competencies, and ongoing activities of the BATEG Laboratory were presented. Following introductory sessions on cell structure, cell types, and components, a practical workshop focused on cell testing was successfully conducted. Comprehensive insights were also shared regarding module components, module assembly, and the transitional processes from cell-level to module-level manufacturing.

The program concluded with a dynamic Q&A session. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Coşkunöz Education Foundation for their valuable collaboration in these educational activities, as well as to the esteemed engineer candidates who participated in the training program.
