Cancellation of Summer School

In accordance with the decision taken at the Bursa Uludağ University Senate meeting dated October 15, 2025, and numbered 2025-27, Summer School will not be offered at our university during the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
For students of our university who wish to take courses from the Summer Schools of other universities, the following regulations shall apply:
1. Course Enrollment Regulations
In the event that summer school is not offered at our university, students who wish to take courses from other universities offering summer education may be granted permission by their respective academic units. This permission is subject to paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (e), (g), (h), and (i) of the 1st paragraph of Article 10 (titled "Course Enrollment") of the Bursa Uludağ University Associate and Undergraduate Degree Summer School Regulation as detailed below:
Course Enrollment ARTICLE 10- (1)
a) Enrolling in summer school is optional. A student may take a maximum of 4 (four) courses in summer school, provided that the total workload does not exceed 22 ECTS credits. Students who register for the maximum course load but require only two remaining courses to graduate from their department or program may also register for these additional two courses.
b) Students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) below 1.80 cannot take new courses; they may only take courses they have failed or passed conditionally. Students who have successfully completed the foreign language preparatory class cannot participate in summer school without having taken the courses in the curriculum of their registered program during the regular academic semesters.
c) During summer school, students can take courses offered from a maximum of two semesters ahead.
e) To enroll in courses such as graduation thesis, project, graduation project, research methods, or current topics, students must have taken these courses prior to the summer school and failed them. Students who will graduate at the end of the summer school are exempt from this condition.
g) With the approval of their registered academic unit, students may take courses that are not offered at our University from the summer schools of other state universities, provided that the course content, hours, and/or ECTS credits are equivalent or higher. Grade reports sent by these universities will be recorded after being approved by the administrative boards of the respective units. Permission to take courses from Foundation (Private) Universities is subject to the decision of the relevant unit’s administrative board.
h) As of the end of the preceding semester, students who are subject to dismissal due to failure to pay tuition fees/contributions and failure to renew registration for four consecutive years—by proposal of the relevant administrative board, decision of the Senate, and approval of CoHE (YÖK)—and who have more than five courses remaining (excluding internships) cannot register for the summer school to be held at the end of this period.
i) Students taking courses in summer school may complete their internships during their remaining free days. However, in academic units where continuous/uninterrupted internship is mandatory, summer school and internships cannot be conducted simultaneously.
2. Preparatory Class Restriction
Students studying in the compulsory foreign language preparatory class are not permitted to take courses from programs of universities where the medium of instruction is different.
3. Geographic Limitation
Students are permitted to take courses from a maximum of 2 different universities located within the same city.
