The opening of the project titled “AI-Supported Assessment Practices in Teaching English Language Skills”, supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) 4005 – Innovative Educational Practices Support Program, was held at Eskişehir Ali Güven Application Hotel.
The project, carried out under the coordination of Tepebaşı Nafiye-Hüseyin Küçükoğlu Public Education Center, was designed to support the professional development of English teachers and to integrate AI-supported assessment tools that meet the requirements of the era into classroom practices. Bringing together 30 English teachers from 18 different provinces across Türkiye, the project combines a comprehensive training program with innovative applications such as CEFR-based language skills, AI-supported tools, data-driven feedback, gamification, augmented reality, and digital rubric development.
The opening program was attended by Tepebaşı District Director of National Education Mehmet Faideci, Tepebaşı District National Education Branch Director Mustafa Yetim, Director of Tepebaşı Nafiye-Hüseyin Küçükoğlu Public Education Center Kerim Erzincanlı, Deputy Director Musa Mutlu, Project Coordinator Dr. Davut Atış, project experts Prof. Dr. Şehnaz Baltacı, Dr. Umut Muharrem Salihoğlu, Dr. Ayşe Zambak, Dr. Fatma Avcı, trainers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilşah Kalay, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezen Arslan, Dr. Celal Murat Kandemir, Dr. Sadife Demiral, project guides Bora Torun, Merve Saygıner, Pelin Elbasan, and Zeynep Ertürk İçen, as well as academics from various universities, teachers affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, and distinguished guests. The training sessions will take place between July 7–12, 2025 in Eskişehir, offering participating teachers an innovative learning environment enriched with both theoretical and practical content.
