Success of Science Education Students in TÜBİTAK: 2209-A Project Studies Continue at Full Speed

Undergraduate students of the Science Education Program at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Education have achieved significant success within the scope of the 2024 first-term call of TÜBİTAK’s 2209-A Research Project Support Program for University Students. With four different projects receiving support from the same program, prospective science teachers continue their academic research endeavors.

The supported projects address current and multidimensional themes such as pre-service teachers’ laboratory self-efficacy, cognitive control and flexibility skills, innovative thinking tendencies, 21st-century skills, and hygiene perceptions. These studies not only enhance the teaching competencies of prospective teachers but also contribute to their development as researchers, analytical thinkers, and solution-oriented individuals.

The project teams are advised by Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Arslan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilek Zeren Özer, and Prof. Dr. R. Erol Demirbatır. The fieldwork and analysis processes of the TÜBİTAK-supported projects are being carried out at full pace under the guidance of these faculty members.

This achievement by the undergraduate students of the Science Education Program stands as a concrete indicator of the faculty’s research-oriented, student-centered, and productive educational approach.
