Prof. Dr. Nermin Bulunuz, a faculty member in our department, has conducted a two-week academic visit to the Faculty of Education at the University of Hamburg, Germany (Pädagogische Hochschule Steiermark), within the scope of the “2023 DV-1 Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching” program.
During her stay, Prof. Dr. Bulunuz visited “Christianeum,” one of the affiliated practice schools of the faculty, where she interacted with students at various grade levels. She responded to their questions regarding the Turkish education system and participated in several classroom sessions to gain insights into the teaching and learning processes implemented in the Hamburg education system.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Bulunuz delivered a presentation to students of the Faculty of Education and Erasmus coordinator Ms. Dilbar Ernazarova, introducing our university and faculty. The presentation specifically focused on the structure and implementation of the teaching practicum courses conducted at our faculty, providing detailed information on field-based teacher training practices.
At the request of the host institution, it was agreed to initiate a new bilateral agreement between the two faculties to enhance collaboration on teacher practicum courses. Furthermore, a presentation by an Erasmus coordinator from Finland was attended on the same day, leading to a mutual agreement on pursuing a potential partnership with the Finnish institution as well.
Throughout the visit, Prof. Dr. Bulunuz engaged in scholarly discussions with faculty members, researchers, and students on current challenges in education and potential solutions, contributing to a productive academic exchange of ideas.
