Department Of Basic Medical Sciences

The Department of Basic Medical Sciences provides prospective dentists with the essential knowledge and skills they need to understand their profession. In the first two years, the department teaches the fundamentals of human biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, biology and genetics, as well as the factors that cause disease and the responses of the body's immune system. This basic education also includes lectures on first aid and life-saving techniques and on basic statistical methods used in scientific research.

Basic medical sciences education is carried out with the support of different departments within the Faculty of Medicine, Section of Basic Medical Sciences, and the practical laboratory facilities of these departments.
