BUU Computer Engineering Department strengthens its academic power with the Technology and Impact Center.

Bursa Uludağ University (BUU), in line with its goals of strengthening industry-academia collaboration, opened the doors of its "Technology and Impact Center," established within the scope of the Sabancı Youth Mobilization program.

The opening ceremony, held at the Arif Ağaoğlu Advanced Technology and Engineering Laboratories, was attended by BUU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu and Prof. Dr. Cafer Çiftci, Aksigorta General Manager Fırat Kuruca, deans, department heads, academics, and numerous students.

"INVESTMENT IN YOUNG PEOPLE IS A LONG-TERM SOURCE OF HOPE"
BUU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu, who hosted the opening, emphasized the university's 50-year history and its vision of being one of the 23 research universities in Turkey. Stating that BUU is a giant educational institution with over 57,000 students and an international identity, Kırıştıoğlu expressed that this laboratory, provided by Aksigorta to the Computer Engineering department, is a great opportunity for young people. The Vice Rector, stating that private sector support serves as a springboard in education, drew attention to the inseparable link between science and economics, and expressed his gratitude to Sabancı Holding and Aksigorta for their support, noting that this center, which will nurture the hopes of young people, will make long-term and valuable contributions to both the university and the world of technology.

"WE WILL BUILD THE FUTURE TOGETHER WITH BUU'S YOUTH"
Aksigorta General Manager Fırat Kuruca began his speech by expressing his satisfaction with BUU's academic reputation and the youthful energy on campus. He stated that he believes this laboratory, the 13th center opened across Turkey as part of Sabancı Holding's Youth Mobilization initiative, will yield results befitting BUU's vision. Kuruca noted that the center will be supported by a 120-hour Java training program and that successful students will be offered internship opportunities, adding that they are excited to bring the dynamic structure of the insurance sector, blended with technology, together with young people.

Following the speeches, the laboratory was officially opened. The guests then toured the Arif Ağaoğlu Advanced Technology and Engineering Laboratories and received information about the ongoing research.
