The 3rd International RoGeMoPorTur Meeting, themed “Personifications and Allegories in Ancient Mosaics,” was successfully completed at the Iznik Foundation campus on June 19-21, 2026, in collaboration with the Iznik Museum, Bursa Uludağ University Mosaic Research and Application Center, Bursa Uludağ University Archaeology Department, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, and Iznik Municipality, and with the support of the Iznik Foundation.

This international event featured a total of 28 oral presentations by scientists from countries such as Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Germany, and concluded with a tour of Iznik.

The outcomes of the meeting will be published in the 20th issue of the Journal of Mosaic Research, a publication of UMAM, in 2027.

"The RoGeMoPorTur project (Roman Geometric Mosaics in Portugal and Türkiye: A Comparative Study) is a pilot project for scientific collaboration in the field of Roman mosaic studies conducted in Portugal and Türkiye. Its aim is to define and comparatively analyze the hybridization of cultures reflected in Roman mosaics in Portuguese and Turkish territories, and to identify the cultural exchange and interaction between East and West resulting from the mobility of artisans, trade, and contacts between different regions of the Empire."
