Prof. Dr. Serhat Zaman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Halil Mustafa Bektaş, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülçin Tunç, academics from Bursa Uludağ University (BUU), succeeded in obtaining support from TÜBİTAK with their project proposals.
The results of the "Civil Society Research" call under the TÜBİTAK ARDEB 3005 - “Innovative Solutions Research Projects Support Program in Social and Humanities Sciences” were announced. The projects of three BUU academics were deemed worthy of support. Dr. Asst. Prof. Gülçin Tunç, a faculty member from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at BUU’s Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Halil Mustafa Bektaş, a faculty member from the Department of International Relations, and Prof. Dr. Serhat Zaman, a faculty member from the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, led the projects that were awarded support.
THE PROJECT PROPOSALS OF 3 ACADEMICS WERE ACCEPTED
Dr. Asst. Prof. Gülçin Tunç’s project titled "Analysis of the Relationship Networks Between Public, Civil Society, and Private Sector Actors in the Context of Developing Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Disaster-Resilient Cities: A Comparative Case Study Including the Cities of İzmir, Bursa, Konya, and Erzurum" was awarded support. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Halil Mustafa Bektaş received support for his project "Examination of the Communication Strategies of Civil Society Organizations Based in Turkey in the Context of Disaster Management and Development of an Integrated Communication Strategy." Prof. Dr. Serhat Zaman was also awarded support for his project "Diasporic Relationship Networks in Disasters: Hometown Associations as a Volunteer-Based Solidarity Model."

BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz congratulated the academics for their success. Emphasizing that they are focused on producing more high-quality projects in line with the vision of a research university, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz stated: “We are structuring all our academic activities to improve our ranking in the research university category. In this context, we are putting intense effort into supporting our academics and bringing out their knowledge and experience. We hope to increase the number of TÜBİTAK ARDEB 3005 projects and other project supports. We congratulate our professors whose proposals were awarded support and wish them continued success.
