Special success certificates were presented to the most successful academics of the month through an initiative launched by the Research and Development (R&D) Coordination Office at Bursa Uludağ University (BUU)
BUÜ, which is among the 23 research universities in Turkey and continues to work towards rising in the rankings, held the certificate presentation ceremony for academics who have contributed to the university through their projects. The ceremony, which is held regularly, continued this month as well. The certificates were presented by BUU Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz, who praised the faculty members for their contributions to the university.
“WE WILL UNLEASH OUR POTENTIAL”
In his speech during the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz stated, “We have broadly shaped the R&D Coordination and its underlying institutional organization of a research university. Now, what remains is activating our potential. For this, your efforts as academics are very valuable. We want to bring out our scientific strength and your experience in the best way possible. I want to sincerely thank each of you for your support within the framework of our university’s mission as a research university. It is truly an honor to see the number of successful academics increasing, and I hope this number continues to grow every month. Congratulations to all of you.”
“RESEARCH IS AN ECOSYSTEM”
BUU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu emphasized that as a research university, the university would eventually have a much more dynamic infrastructure. He said, “As we know, research is an ecosystem. Therefore, there must be different branches within the ecosystem, and faculty members or researchers need to encounter each other in a more interconnected environment. This meeting is not only a recognition ceremony but also significant in terms of bringing together researchers from different fields with certain capacities. Therefore, the interaction between academics will seriously contribute to the academic development of our university. I would like to thank all of you individually and wish you continued success.”
“IT IS ENCOURAGING TO SEE THE NUMBER OF SUCCESSFUL ACADEMICS INCREASING”
R&D Coordinator Prof. Dr. Esra Karaca mentioned, “As the R&D Coordination Office, we plan to organize such an event every month starting from January 1, 2025. This is our second event. We invite our professors who have a Q1 publication, approved projects, opened budgets in strategy, and patented works. We invite our project managers, all faculty members who contributed to the articles, and all faculty involved in patents. We regularly track the data, and we pull them from the Strategy Department, TTO, and WoS. It is very encouraging to see this number continuously growing. I congratulate all our professors.”
The meeting ended after the successful academics, who stood out with their Q1 publications and project works in February, received their success certificates.
