The Robotics and Coding Workshop was opened at Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) Faculty of Education. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to provide
expert training on future technologies to teachers taking STEAM and students of the Faculty of Education.
Prof., one of the academicians of BUU Faculty of Education, Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies Education. Dr. Robotics, established within the scope of
the European Union (Erasmus +) project titled "Enhancement of STEAM Teachers' Discipline- Specific Pedagogies through Robotic and Coding Curriculum Embedded in
Online Environment (RoboCode)", directed by Adem Uzun, numbered 2020-1-TR01-KA201-093736 and Coding Workshop was put into service. BUU Rector Prof. attended
the opening ceremony of the EU Erasmus + Project, which was launched approximately 2 years ago with a budget of 191,870 Euros. Dr. Ahmet Saim Rehber, Dean of the
Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Salih Çepni, academicians and students also attended.
RECTOR KILAVUZ: WE ARE REALIZING THE FRUITS OF HARD WORK
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Rehber stated that they are happy with the scientific and academic level the university has reached, but they will not
be satisfied with this level. Noting that they continue to receive successful results from the work they started on the first day they took office, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Guide; “Our
teachers, young academics and students all act together in a harmonious working order. "We continue to reap the fruits of our efforts," he said.
THE FOUNDATIONS OF SCIENTIFIC SUCCESS ARE BEING LAYED
Rector Guide noted that since they are a Research University, they attach particular importance to technologically based projects; “Using future technologies in the education
of our young people and adapting these innovations into teaching activities exactly coincide with the mission of our university. The training received here directs our young
people to produce innovative projects, conduct R&D and become entrepreneurs with the equipment they acquire. ULUTEK Teknokent hosts many young entrepreneurs.
ULUTEK has become the focus of attention of young entrepreneurs operating in the field of software and coding in the last 5 years. Last year alone, companies here achieved
an export of 4 million dollars. We estimate that our university will reach further points as we increase the number of workshops and laboratories opened today and improve the
equipment there. The friendships established here turn into joint projects, projects turn into publications, publications turn into citations, and the foundations of an overall scientific
success are established in these workshops. I would like to thank the entire team that carried out the project, everyone who supported us, and our teachers. "May they always be
successful," he said.
THE FIRST ADDRESS OF THE RIGHT HUMAN RESOURCES
Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Salih Çepni underlined that, as a faculty, they have carried out valuable work in terms of revealing theoretical knowledge in recent years.
Dean Prof. emphasized that the name of the Faculty of Education has started to come to the fore with the projects carried out with the great efforts of academics. Dr. Salih Çepni;
“All of these efforts will turn into academic publications and our university will move towards the places it deserves. Universities should not be places where only theoretical
knowledge is given. There should be places where information turns into skills, skills into talents, talents into designs, and designs into technology. Technologies will continue to
advance thanks to such workshops. This requires the right human resources. These workshops will be the first address for the right human resources. The project workshop we
opened today stands as the best example of these efforts and goals. "We congratulate all our teachers who contributed to the project and wish it to be beneficial," he said.
WIDE EDUCATION RANGE
Providing information about the project, Prof. Dr. Adem Uzun stated that the Robotics and Coding Workshop was created in a modern, functional and expandable structure in line
with the goals of the Faculty of Education and the University. Stating that the workshop has the infrastructure that can be used in specialization studies starting from pre-school,
at university level and beyond, Prof. Dr. Adem Uzun; “We thought multidimensionally when choosing the materials and designs here. There are many departments within the
faculty. We have kept the range wide to benefit our students studying in all departments. We attached importance to the establishment of a common workshop in line with our
goals. "We will use this place to contribute to the professional development of our teachers, who are the main target group of our project, and to help our students turn theoretical
knowledge into practice," he said.
After the speeches, the participants cut the ribbon together and opened the Robotics and Coding Workshop.
