The seminar "Beyond the Classroom: Education Series I," organized in collaboration between the Departments of Science Education and Early Childhood Education at Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Education, took place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Uğur Mumcu Hall in the Faculty of Education B Block.
As part of the Out-of-School Learning Environments course, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dilek Zeren Özer and Dr. Sema Nur Güngör hosted the event, featuring invited speakers Nilay Çakır and Serpil Karakiraz from the İznik District Directorate of National Education. The speakers shared insights and experiences on the educational contributions of alternative learning environments, Youth Exchange Projects, European Voluntary Service Programs, and projects conducted within the İznik District Directorate of National Education. Prof. Dr. Esra Karaca, Research and Development Coordinator at BUU, also attended and provided support for the seminar.
This event aligned with the Faculty of Education’s goals to promote inquiry-based teaching approaches, encourage collaborative scientific and social activities between students and faculty, and organize initiatives that foster societal awareness. The Faculty continues to nurture graduates as experts in their fields who are open to international experiences.
The seminar included a comprehensive introduction to the European Union’s Youth Exchange Projects and European Voluntary Service Programs. Speakers highlighted the opportunities these programs offer for international experience and personal development. Attendees gained valuable information on the application processes and the benefits provided by these programs.
