ANIMAL HUSBANDRY LABORATORY
The laboratory applications for courses taken by undergraduate students in the Department of Animal Science include tools and equipment used in management practices for farm animal husbandry (such as sperm collection, sponge application, insemination, numbering, dehorning, hoof care, castration, etc.), a milk analysis device, and a microscope.
FEED SCIENCE AND FEED MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY
In the Department of Animal Science, there are two laboratories for examining the nutritional values and microbiological properties of feeds and determining their digestibility. One of these laboratories is also utilized as a student practice area. In our laboratories, analyses are conducted primarily for applications and research, as well as upon requests from various institutions and organizations.
GENETIC VARIATION LABORATORY
In the Genetic Variation Laboratory of the Department of Animal Science, various mutations related to diseases and productivity in DNA samples obtained from different breeds of farm animals can be identified using various molecular genetic methods. Additionally, studies calculating genetic diversity among breeds are conducted using molecular genetic techniques.
POULTRY AND APICULTURE LABORATORY
Laboratory applications for courses taken by undergraduate students in the Department of Animal Science are conducted here. The laboratory is equipped with tools and devices used in beekeeping and poultry breeding, as well as weighing and measuring instruments used to determine the internal and external quality of eggs.
