The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology focuses on the reproduction and reproductive issues of domestic animals, including physiological and pathological conditions during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum periods, as well as mammary health, mammary diseases, and issues related to healthy milk production.

For undergraduate students at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Department offers a mandatory course titled "Obstetrics and Gynecology." In addition, students who choose the Small Animal Medicine or Farm Animal Medicine and Breeding track in their final year are provided with elective courses focusing on species-specific obstetrics, gynecology, and mammary diseases.

The main research areas of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology include estrus synchronization in cows and sheep, infectious and functional infertility in cows, follicular dynamics, mastitis prophylaxis, vaccination, and treatment, embryo transfer and in vitro maturation, diagnosis and treatment of vaginal and mammary tumors in dogs, pyometra, infectious infertility in mares, reproductive management, and ovariectomy.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology also carries out comprehensive support activities for livestock enterprises in Bursa and surrounding regions, aiming to provide scientific, technical, and practical support to local breeders, ensure a steady patient population for continued research, and supply educational materials. The department actively contributes to the Faculty’s invited "Mobil-Vet" veterinary health services to achieve these goals. Additionally, the Department collaborates with the Bursa and Yalova municipalities, the Bursa Breeding Dairy Cattle Association, and the Marmara Livestock Research Institute.
