İntership (Student)

In our faculty, internship is optional, and it aims to enable the students of the Faculty to gain work experience to reinforce their theoretical knowledge and professional competencies, to get to know the principles of functioning and organisational structures of public and private sector workplaces, and to have preliminary knowledge to help them choose their fields of study in the post-graduation period.

Optional internship is subject to the provisions of Bursa Uludağ University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Directive on Optional Internship (Annex to the Senate Decision dated 21 February 2020). 

According to the relevant Directive, general rules regarding optional internships (Article 6):

a) Students who have not been disciplined and have a GPA of 2.00 and above can benefit from the internship right.

b) Internship is not counted in the course load and is not one of the requirements for graduation.

c) Students can do an internship at most two (2) times during the 4 (four) year education period and for a maximum of 20 (twenty) working days without interruption. Students whose semester is extended are not entitled to internship.

ç) Internship is done at the end of the second, fourth, sixth and eighth semesters. The internship period starts on the date of the end of the spring semester final exams and ends on the date of the beginning of the following academic year.

d) Students do their internships in the periods specified in the Internship Calendar determined by the Internship Commission and announced by the Internship Unit.

e) Students who have registered for summer education cannot do internships during summer education.

f) For the student to benefit from the internship right, he/she must not graduate. If the student graduates during the internship period, the internship ends automatically.

ğ) In the case of many applications, the Internship Commission may rank the applicants according to objective criteria to be determined in addition to the above conditions.

g) As a rule, the student determines the internship place. In cases where the internship place is determined by the departments or the Career Application and Research Centre, the Internship Commission selects the students who apply for internships according to the objective criteria to be determined.

ı) Students who do not participate in the internship program or drop out without completing it and whose employer's negative evaluation report is deemed not to have completed the internship.
