The 3rd edition of the book The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey: Events, People, Decisions from a Historical Perspective, co-authored by Prof. Dr. Serdar GÜLENER, member of our Department, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cem Duran UZUN, has now been published.

This study delves into the history of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey through key events, prominent figures, and landmark decisions. It begins by assessing the significance of constitutional review within the broader framework of constitutionalism and traces the global development of constitutional review. The book then examines the Turkish Constitutional Court in five phases: the "pre-1961 period," the "1962-1971 period," the "1971-1982 period," the "1982-2010 period," and the "post-2010 period." Each phase is further divided into subsections based on the terms of office of the Court’s presidents. For each presidency, major decisions on norm control and individual applications (applicable during the 1982 Constitution period) are summarized, alongside notable events as reflected in the newspapers of the time (BACK COVER).
