“YOU MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE BY CHOOSING BURSA”
Mayor Dündar, who gave information about Bursa and Osmangazi district to the guest students, said, “Osmangazi is the center of Bursa. It's a historic town. Many visitors come from home and abroad. You have chosen Bursa for your university education. You made the right choice in my opinion. You are very lucky students that you have come to Bursa and you are studying here in one of the best universities in Turkey. You can find people from every country in Bursa. We have students from 70 countries in the International Murad Hüdavendigar High School, which was brought to the city by our municipality. Uludag University has students from 135 countries. The world is here. You will definitely find a citizen from your own country. You will definitely not feel yourself alone,” he said.
“TURKEY IS THE HOPE OF THE OPPRESSED AND VICTIM GEOGRAPHIES”
Pointing out that there is an increase in the number of visiting students at universities across Turkey, Rector Kılavuz said, “While 10-15 thousand visiting students were studying at universities across Turkey in the past, this figure has increased to 180 thousand as of now. The target set by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for our universities is to reach 500 thousand guest students. We don't do this for money. We do it because you come from our heartland. Our guest students are people from the oppressed and aggrieved civilizations of the world. Turkey is the hope, future and future of the oppressed and aggrieved geographies," he said.
“EVERY STUDENT WILL BE OUR CULTURAL AMBASSADOR”
ULUTOMER Director Prof. Dr. Mustafa Asım Yediyıldız also said in his speech: “Our guest students, brought to Turkey by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, will continue their education in different departments of our university after a certain period of Turkish education. They will love Turkey, Bursa, Osmangazi and our university in the next 4-5 years they will be with them, and when they return to their countries, each of them will be our cultural ambassadors.”
