Bursa Uludag University and Building Contractors Industrialists and Business People Association (İMSİAD)  in partnership with Occupational Health and Promotion of Security Grant Program funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey carried out 'Conscious Roster Project launch meeting for Safe Construction. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to increase the sensitivity of occupational health and safety by providing one-to-one trainings to sector employees at the Digital Training Center to be established within BUU.

At the project opening meeting held at the Prof Dr Mete Cengiz Cultural Center, BUU Rector Prof Dr Ahmet Saim Kilavuz, IMSIAD Chairman of the Board Mustafa Andıç, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Âdem Doğangün, BUÜ OHS Coordinator Associate Professor Nurettin Yamankaradeniz, academicians and IMSIAD Board Members were present . Cafer Uzunkaya, General Manager of Occupational Health and Safety of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, also attended the program with an online meeting.

ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES OF UNIVERSITY-CIVIL SOCIETY COOPERATION 

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector of BUU Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kilavuz pointed out that education and training are the main tasks of universities. Explaining that they will provide training on occupational safety with digital methods in the continuation of the EU Project. Rector Prof Dr Ahmet Saim Kılavuz added ; “We provide these trainings to other sectors, especially the construction sector. Currently, we also have a formal training program through the occupational health and safety program. Apart from this, we have taken serious measures and organized trainings for our own staff and students regarding occupational safety, which has been neglected for many years. With this project, we also fulfill our social contribution duty. With the scientific products we produce, we also produce services that will benefit our people. We will share our scientific knowledge with various public administrations, local administrations and non-governmental organizations. In this project, we will show a good example of University-Non-Governmental Organization cooperation by acting together with İMSİAD. Hopefully, after our Occupational Safety Center is put into service, we will work on increasing the awareness of work accidents and occupational safety."
